After a long career playing violin in alternative folk and indie rock bands, Robert Pycior has gravitated to film scoring in recent years. This EP represents Pycior’s first solo effort under his own name and showcases the work he’s been performing live for the last few years - solo violin, delay and tape layerings. With each track a culmination of singular live performances and every sound originating from Pycior’s violin. The new works are instrumental explorations of urban decay and natural disorder. The EP is largely ambient, but focuses on melody more than the genre is usually known for.

Robert Pycior is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist who has been playing violin since the age of 5. In the time since, he’s explored sonic territory few players attempt with the instrument. His current vocations include scoring film/video (either with primary composition, individual cues, or string arrangements) as well as teaching music to kids in afterschool programs. He also has thousands of performances under his belt in rock bands, notably as the feature violinist in the avant-folk band, o’death, and a number of writing and recording credits to his name with o’death, North Collins, This Frontier Needs Heroes, Adventure Violence, Skeletonbreath, Orion Rigel Dommisse, and Jenny Owen Youngs.
